Insights Association Appoints Shannon Danzy Senior Director, Research Strategy

To provide its membership and the consumer insights and data analytics profession with data needed to improve the quality of research practices and make more informed operations decisions, the Insights Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Shannon Danzy as Senior Director, Research Strategy.

A strategist and market researcher with over 20 years of experience, Shannon has long worked at the intersection of consumer insights, brand strategy, and social impact. She has held senior positions at marketing agencies and nonprofits at RALLY, MediaCom, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, and the Partnership for a Drug-Free America. Shannon also ran her own independent consultancy working with brands, advertising agencies, and research companies on a range of categories including social media, pharmaceuticals, packaged goods, and retail. She is known for solving complex challenges in bold ways, creative research approaches, and a relentless zeal for her craft.

“Working closely with Shannon as a devoted volunteer, we’ve seen firsthand her superb research skills, extensive knowledge of the industry, and attention to detail. Not to mention her enthusiasm and good nature,” commented Melanie Courtright, CEO of the Insights Association. “We’re thrilled to welcome Shannon to our staff at a time when we are expanding our research of industry needs, market scope and trends, compensation and operations metrics, and the business impact of insights, while also evangelizing best practices in data quality, DEI, and other essential areas.”

“I'm excited to join the Insights Association's incredible team,” Shannon said. “I've long admired their work in the industry. I look forward to building on the IA's research agenda, advancing the development of inclusive research, and collaborating with members to address critical industry topics.”

Stemming from her professional experience in multicultural marketing and personal experience as a Black woman in a predominantly white insights and analytics field, Shannon has advocated for increased inclusivity within the industry and more inclusive research methods as the founder of QRCA's Inclusive Culture Committee and Young Professionals Committee, a founding member of the Insights Association's IDEA Council, and through speaking engagements.

Shannon has been a member of AAPOR (American Association for Public Opinion Research), EPIC, APG, Insights Association, and QRCA. Additionally, she has volunteered as the QRCA's NY/Metropolitan NYC Chapter co-chair and ran the NYC Chapter of the former New Research Speakers Club.
