At its Corporate Researchers Conference in Chicago last week, the Insights Association named the 2026 class of Laureates, a lifetime recognition of distinction in the field of market research, consumer insights, and data analytics.
Those who hold the Laureate certification are recognized as outstanding members of the insights community, with distinguished careers marked by meaningful contributions that have advanced the profession. The newly named Laureates are:
Stan Sthanunathan, Executive Chairman, i-Genie.AI Inc. Over more than 40 years, Sthanunathan has helped organizations move beyond traditional surveys to draw insights from behavioral, social, and digital signals. His leadership at Coca-Cola and Unilever, along with his mentorship and thought leadership, has helped shape the profession.
Steven Snell, EVP, Head of Research, Rep Data. Snell has advanced research methodology and data quality through leadership roles at Rep Data, Goldman Sachs, and Qualtrics. As president of the Market Research Council, he is helping the industry address fraud and strengthen research practices.
Hilary Borndahl, Founder and CEO, Miix Analytics. Borndahl has spent more than 25 years advancing the profession, including leadership roles at Nielsen and Kantar. As president of IA’s Canada Chapter, she has strengthened connections across the Canadian insights community while mentoring emerging professionals.
Melanie Courtright, Chief Strategy Officer, Sago. A former CEO of the Insights Association, Courtright has championed data quality, ethics, privacy, and responsible innovation. She continues to help organizations bring together AI, technology, and human expertise to deliver stronger insights.
“This is an extraordinarily accomplished and influential group, with each Laureate still making important contributions to our profession,” said Anita Watkins, CEO of the Insights Association. “It’s a pleasure to recognize their dedication and hard work, and we know they will continue to inspire the next generation of leaders.”
Peers nominated the Laureates. IA’s Professional Development Committee and selected past Laureates chose the honorees, whose selection was approved by the IA Board of Directors.
Laureates commit to leading by example in ethics and integrity, mentoring colleagues and students, and serving as ambassadors for the profession and the Insights Association. They will be listed on IA’s website as a resource for members seeking guidance.
