The IDEA Council not only maps the path for progress in research practice and the insights workplace, but they also take active roles in research design, data analysis, report writing and presentation, and much more.

Damon is the Vice-President of Community & Culture at Burke, Inc. Damon plays a critical role in Burke’s Data Collection Division as he oversees the day-to-day operations involved in the execution of telephone research projects. He manages the execution of our Hispanic telephone data collection through our subcontractor partner network. In addition to his day to day responsibilities, Damon serves as Chair of Burke’s Inclusion & Diversity Strategic team called Kaleidoscope and serves on multiple teams within the organization.

Damon is continually involved in staying current in MR Data Collection and general industry knowledge by his active membership in the Insights Association.

He is a Board advisor of the Great Lakes Chapter of the Insights Association and serves as Chair of that Chapter’s Diversity and Education Committee which he formed during his tenure as President in 2014-15, and serves on the National Insights Association’s Chapter Leadership Committee and the newly formed IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access) committee with National IA . He has been a presenter at multiple educational conferences. Damon is a Graduate of the University of Georgia’s Principles of Marketing Research Certification Program. Damon is also a Graduate of Cornell University’s Online Diversity and Education Certification Program. Damon has been with Burke since July of 1996.

Damon has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Cincinnati with a double major in Marketing and Management.

Scott Baker is a Senior Vice President at Sago. He has deep knowledge and experience working with Fortune 100/500 Brands for a variety of verticals, solutions, and methodologies over the years. Always working with clients to achieve their research goals, consider innovative solutions and develop long-term partnerships.

Scott began his career in the field of advertising before joining the research firm – Herron Associates in Tampa, Florida in 1991. In 1998 he moved to Los Angeles, California to join Adept Consumer Testing where he worked across many positions from Project Director to Vice President to several years as President before leaving. In 2014, Scott joined Schlesinger Group where his responsibilities ranged from overseeing West Coast Operations to leading the Brand Team and several key accounts before leaving in 2022.

Scott is highly involved in several professional organizations including the Insights Association. Over the years, he has served numerous local and national positions within Industry organizations and other non-profits. Currently, he serves on the Executive Committee for the Insights Association Board of Directors with a particular focus on National Events and DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) initiatives with the IDEA Council.

Scott is a graduate of the University of South Florida, with continued education from New York University, Loyola University, UCLA Extension, Burke Institute, and the Disney Institute. In addition, Scott is IPC certified (an Insights Association designation).

Scott lives at the beach in Marina del Rey, CA, and can be found doing outdoor activities on the weekends with his husband and two mini-Schnauzers – typically between Venice Beach and Palm Desert.

She then moved into academia and marketing consulting. After earning her MBA she worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers before joining Brand Learning, which was acquired by Accenture. At the beginning of 2021. following her passion and desire to use her skills to make a difference, she co-founded Equitas Insight, a consultancy aiming to drive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the workplace.

Frankie's passions center around access & empowerment, inclusive design, and awareness building as it relates to societal wellness, and these are the vehicles that drive her research career forward. She is an active member of the Insights Association and QRCA, and a graduate of the MSU Master of Science in Marketing Research program (MS, 2020) and MSU's Marketing and Psychology programs, where she also received a Minor of Leadership in Integrated Learning (BA, 2019).

With more than 20 years in the insights industry, Sherri Dansby is the Director of Patient Experience at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Her focus is on improving the delivery of patient care and health outcomes for seniors. She has expertise in executing bespoke quantitative and qualitative market research studies and is passionate about using insights to drive business decisions.

Sherri has been active with the Insights Association for more than 15 years and served as President of the North Central Chapter. She's also a founding member of the IDEA Council and proud of the mission to advance diversity and inclusion within the insights industry. Sherri is also active in other organizations, enjoys traveling and is an avid runner. She has a bachelor’s from the University of Michigan and MBA from the University of Detroit-Mercy.

Equipped with professional education from MIT in Applied Generative AI for Digital Transformation, Dr. Robertson is poised to help individuals, businesses, non-profits, and government entities apply Generative AI in an organizational and business context. As an Entrepreneur Support Organization, we offer entrepreneur development opportunities in partnership with the Marion Ewing Kauffman Foundation. Currently, Tchicaya provides pro-bono professional research services to the Delta Research and Educational Foundation as the Sister Scholars Advisory Council – Delta Research and Educational Foundation Chair, to the National Insights Association Insights Association as a Director at Large and Immediate past Chair of the IDEA Council. Dr Brooks also volunteers her time to Women in Research (WIRe) as the Chicago Events Lead and to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as a member of the National Distinguished Professor Endowed Chair Taskforce.

Jill brings six years of experience in the market research industry, specializing in the travel and hospitality industries. She is a curious and intelligent market researcher and is responsible for executing projects end-to-end. Market segmentation, discrete choice modeling, and concept tests are a few of the research methodologies she’s familiar with. Within Jill’s organization, she is the Co-Chair of their DEI Committee and is dedicated to fostering a workplace culture that champions diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring every voice is heard and valued in the pursuit of a more equitable industry. She oversees subcommittees that aim to understand employee’s perceptions of the organization, grow employee’s sense of belonging & engagement with the organization, and share DEI best practices in the industry with the rest of the organization.

Amy Santopietro currently serves as the Director of Market Research and Consumer Insights at Mass General Brigham, the largest healthcare system in New England. This role enables her to continuously stoke a passion of seeking new ways to infuse equity into market research practices. For the past year, she has been a volunteer committee member of the Insights Association North Atlantic Chapter DEI Committee, where she and three other members have a monthly podcast called DEI Matters: Inspiring Conversations that Matter. In 2024, she was elected to the role of Director of Memberships for the IANA Chapter. Outside of the professional space, Amy is a mom of two, and an avid runner, reader, and Red Sox fan. This is her first year with the IDEA Council and she is thrilled to be a part of the important work of ensuring every voice is heard in consumer research.

The skinny version: Kayte collaborates with creators to host research topics with their communities. TSQ uses IG Stories Questions, Polls, and Quizzes in #PaidPartnerships as new engagement opportunities and revenue streams, and a new data collection method. The marketing research ecosystem is an 81 billion dollar industry that has barely scratched the surface of leveraging social media conversations in their insights and analytics. Kayte is also on a mission to introduce the concept of marketing research to the masses and is currently under contract writing her first book to allow others to peek into the MRx world.

Claire Ferrari holds a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences & Human Computer Interaction, and a master’s in Interactive Telecommunications. With over 20 years in research, her work has spanned several industries. Claire has had the immense opportunity to engage in Research and Development work for Toronto’s University Health Network, the New York Public Library, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, Google's Creative Lab, 2U/edX, NYU, UCLA, as well as the Processing open-source coding community. As a Principal UX Researcher at Verizon, Claire has built and continues to lead the company’s Accessibility UX Research practice. As part of this work, she hopes to empower others to include people with disabilities in product design - pushing practices beyond compliance, and improving experiences for all.

Mario Carrasco is the co-founder and principal of ThinkNow, an award-winning cross-cultural research technology company. He is a dedicated champion of diversity and inclusion and embodies these values in his professional and personal endeavors.

Under Mr. Carrasco’s co-leadership, ThinkNow has spearheaded numerous groundbreaking initiatives to amplify the voices of underrepresented and underserved communities. Notably, they launched DigaYGane.com, one of the largest and most representative Hispanic online panels in the insights industry. Additionally, through a strategic partnership with Semasio, they launched ThinkNow Audiences, making zero-party multicultural data available on all major demand-side programmatic platforms. Over 100 global brands have increased their reach by up to 70% using ThinkNow Audiences.

Mr. Carrasco has also recently facilitated a partnership between ThinkNow and Fuel Cycle, a leading market research and customer insights platform, to deliver both multicultural and general population insights side by side on one platform.

His impact extends beyond unveiling disruptive technologies that transform cultural conversations, however. He takes his activism from the C-suite to main street, contributing articles to or being cited in national publications like Forbes, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Fortune Magazine, MediaPost, eMarketer, Quirk's Magazine and Online MR Magazine. He launched The New Mainstream podcast, where he invites CMOs and DEI executives from leading global brands to engage in insightful conversations about diversity and inclusion.

Mr. Carrasco has been recognized for his achievements. In 2022, he was selected to receive the Insights Association's Laureate Certification as part of the IPC (Insights Professional Certification) program. Those who hold the Laureate Certification are recognized as outstanding members of the Insights community, with distinguished careers marked by meaningful contributions that have advanced the profession. This is a lifetime recognition of distinction in the field.

In 2023, Mr. Carrasco was elected Chair of the SampleCon Board of Directors. He was named the Next Gen Market Research (NGMR) 2018 Industry Change Agent of the Year and, in 2017, received the SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He is also an SBA Emerging Leader recipient. Mr. Carrasco is a Stanford Latino Entrepreneur Institute Graduate and USC Marshall School of Business alum.

Mr. Carrasco’s urban finesse and keen understanding of multicultural audiences have made him a cultural connector using the tools of his trade to reshape the narrative of multicultural marketing.

Within ThinkNow, Mr. Carrasco and the executive team champion diversity, and the numbers speak for themselves. Forty-one percent of ThinkNow staff is female, with 57% holding leadership positions. Moreover, 79% of ThinkNow’s staff represent diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. Dyna is the Managing Director of the Consumer & Retail, Technology and Telecommunications practices at Escalent. She has a propensity for action and is on a quest to advise and inspire insights leaders across the world. Over the course of her career, Dyna has been on the executive team of multiple venture/private equity backed start-ups, including two that she co-founded herself. On this journey, she's experienced an IPO, scaled a company, and been through two acquisitions. She also co-founded the WIRexec Leadership Summit to promote collaboration among other female executives in her industry. Above and beyond, Dyna believes in diversity and inclusions as well as providing mentorship to young women. Dyna and her partner live in Northern California. They love to mountain bike, ski, and do yoga when they're not busy sorting drama between their two teenage girls, teenage boy exchange student, and rambunctious Frenchie named Matcha.

She has a Masters’s degree in Marketing from Lancaster University UK, and over 20+ years of client-side Insights and Marketing experience gained in Leadership roles at global organizations including GSK, Walt Disney, Virgin Media, Vodafone, and American Express.

In 2009 she joined Brand Learning (now part of Accenture), a boutique Consulting Firm, where she worked extensively on building insight, strategy and marketing capability programs across a wide portfolio of categories and brands (including CPG, Technology, Financial Services, Pharma, Home Improvement, Food & Beverages)

In recent years Sandra has been applying her Insights and Marketing expertise to help champion Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the marketing industry. Jackie Chan is a Research Director at Meta. She supports a team of about 40 researchers focused on uncovering insights to support the Business Messaging team’s mission of becoming the primary way that people and businesses connect. Prior to joining Meta in 2021, Chan spent 14 years with Prudential Financial where she was Vice President, Head of Market Research & Analytics in the most recent 5 years. There, she built and led a team of 40+ professionals responsible for providing Prudential businesses with actionable insights to inform and shape business decisions by using a wide variety of research approaches and analytical techniques to generate insights around market and product opportunities. Chan spent the first 7 years of her career at AMI-Partners where she was responsible for the syndicated primary research operation in 25+ countries, including having spearheaded the launch of syndicated products in 8 Asia Pacific countries. Chan has an M.B.A. from Baruch College and a B.S. of Psychology from Binghamton University.
