After taking the marketing course at UGA and becomming certified, it became obvious that there are multiple sides of market research, creating conducting the research as well as handling, processing, validating, interpreting and presenting the results. I recognized that I needed more education on the latter set in order to be successful in Market Research. I enrolled in the Data Scientist Specialization from Johns Hopkins as offered through Coursera. I have completed several of the requirements and submit 3 proofs of certificate. They are multi-week classes and vary in hours per week depending on complexity. Johns Hopkins validates each student including requiring web cam pics before quizzes and tests. I'm not sure how to calculate hours. Data Scientist Toolbox requires 1 - 4 hours per week for 4 weeks. R Programming was 7 - 9 hours per week for 4 weeks. Getting and Cleaning Data was 4 - 9 hours per week for 4 weeks. Obviously, its a lot of hours. The certificates attached explain each of the courses to give you a better idea about them.
