In September, the Insights Association has addressed: another comprehensive state privacy bill, a new facial recognition law in Baltimore, expansion of the FTC’s privacy role, and some international consumer privacy concerns; our fix to California A.B. 1561 which awaits signature into law; new requirements for COVID-19 vaccination for federal contractors/subcontractors' employees; and the rising legislative and regulatory assault against non-compete agreements in employment contracts.Government Affairs

In August, the Insights Association tussled with more state and federal privacy legislation, laws and regulation; considered the implications of COVID-19-related mandates for employers; analyzed pending changes to the pharmaceutical industry’s restrictions on interactions with doctors; and opposed a potential federal tax on companies operating online. We’re also nearing the finish line in our campaign to fix the California law requiring a minimum wage for research subjects.Government Affairs
