Matt Ranen

Matt is an expert in scenario planning and strategy. Through his consulting practice, he helps clients develop growth, innovation and risk management strategies as their industries face significant change and uncertainty. Prior to launching his own firm, he was as a senior leader at Global Business Network (GBN), the world’s premiere futures and scenario planning consultancy, a part of the Monitor Group strategy consulting firm. Before that, he spent 11 years in new product development in the media, advertising, and technology sectors.

Matt's corporate work has included a broad range of industries, such as mobile/wireless, cloud computing, and information systems; CPG, retail, and consumer financial services; energy, transportation, and real estate; and healthcare. His non-profit sector work has explored topics such as the future of economic development and the future of work. Matt frequently serves as an instructor for scenario planning courses and writes and speaks regularly about future trends.

Matt holds an MBA from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management and a B.A. in applied math from Harvard University.
