Smarty Pants, a youth and family market research consultancy and Insights Association company member, announced that Phil Underwood has joined the organization as a senior director leading custom research for several key toy, food and beverage, and retail clients. Phil's role leverages more than a decade of youth strategy and global consumer insight experience in entertainment, tech and travel.

Prior to Smarty Pants, Phil served as senior director at Insight Strategy Group, where he worked for seven years in the Insights Kids division. He began his career client side managing global research projects focused on Millennial travel for both Visit London and VisitBritain.
A native of the UK, he holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and economics from the University of Sheffield and a master’s degree in management and business research methods from The Open University, the largest university in the U.K. He is based in Brooklyn, NY.
