Smarty Pants market research and strategic consulting firm announced that Matyson “Maty” Nelson has joined the company as an analyst level “Insights Whiz.” Nelson is one of 12 new research professionals added to the firm’s growing talent roster in the first quarter of 2021.
While Nelson is methodologically ambidextrous, she plays a key role in supporting quantitative research initiatives for the company’s toy & game, food & beverage and retail clients. From study scoping to survey development to data analysis, Nelson helps ensure research is well-designed, flawlessly executed and strategically impactful.
Nelson was most recently a market research supervisor at CorCom, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based research and consulting firm that specializes in data-driven solutions. She designed and conducted primary research projects on topics ranging from healthcare to banking to the arts. Nelson began her career as a business and marketing analyst at Leadership League, a marketing and talent development firm that specializes in equipping leaders in sports and business.
Nelson graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management with minors in mathematics and analytics from Grove City College. She also served as the captain of the varsity cross country and track & field teams.
“Maty has hit the ground running as a data analyst and consumer storyteller. She is meticulous when it comes to data integrity, and her attention to detail throughout the entire research cycle is superior. We are delighted that she is applying her talents at Smarty Pants,” states vice president, Dr. Michelle Poris.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Nelson is based in the suburbs of Pittsburgh.
