Rival Technologies has announced the appointment of Venetia Verdicchio as Senior Security Manager. In this new role, Verdicchio will lead security, compliance and privacy efforts for the company’s insight platform.

Prior to joining Rival, Verdicchio was Senior Manager, IT Security and Compliance, at Hyperwallet, a Vancouver-based fintech company acquired by PayPal in 2018. Her specialization is governance, risk, and compliance with a focus on data protection and audits, including SOC 2, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.

Verdicchio’s appointment is timely as Rival recently announced the official launch of its platform Chat Lab and is quickly adding new global brands to its growing client-base.

“The technologists and researchers that make up Rival have a long history in market research innovation, and we understand that security and privacy are big priorities to our clients,” said Andrew Reid, CEO and Founder of Rival Technologies. “We’re very excited to welcome Venetia — her impressive experience at Hyperwallet and PayPal will be incredibly valuable as we accelerate scaling our platform, add more innovative features, and bring in more clients and partners.”

“The pedigree and caliber of Rival’s technology and people are super impressive,” said Venetia. “I am looking forward to working with the team to ensure that security and privacy are baked in into our platform and meet the evolving needs of our clients for data protection and security.”

To respond to the growing demand for its chat, voice, and video solutions, Rival recently welcomed a significant number of new members to its product engineering, sales and customer success teams in Vancouver and Toronto. As it continues to gain market traction, Rival plans to double its workforce by end of 2019: https://www.rivaltech.com/careers.
