As the Administration tries to end 2020 Census operations earlier than necessary to complete the headcount, a recent poll indicates broad bipartisan support for extending the deadline.

Data from the Data for Progress and The Justice Collaborative Institute poll showed overwhelming bipartisan support for increasing funds for census outreach (66 percent) and the census deadline extension (70 percent). Among likely voters, 78 percent of Democrats and 65 percent of Republicans support extending the census deadline. Sixty-six percent of voters, including 64 percent of Republicans support allocating more resources to the census to better reach vulnerable and marginalized communities.

The Insights Association continues to advocate to extend the 2020 Census’ statutory reporting deadlines and let field operations be completed.
