PA – Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi (R-9) introduced S.B. 241, which would establish a state do not call registry for “automatic political calls”.

The bill defines “automatic political call” as using “an automatic dialing-announcing device on behalf of” a political candidate, party, committee, organization or body. An “automatic dialing-announcing device” is defined as  “a device that selects and dials telephone numbers and that, working alone or in conjunction with other equipment, disseminates a prerecorded or synthesized voice message to the telephone number called.”

Since this would impede automated political research calls, MRA will seek to amend or defeat S.B. 241.
