MRA submitted testimony to the Massachusetts Joint Committee on Health Care Financing, which held a hearing today on S.B. 515.

This legislation, sponsored by Sen. Mark C. Montigny (D), would replace the existing physician gift law (Chapter 111N) with a ban on gifts and a more expansive public reporting requirement than exists in current regulations.

The political climate seems unfavorable to expanding Massachusetts' restrcitions (which, thanks to MRA, exclude marketing research incentives) -- indeed, the House has several times attempted to repeal them. However, MRA remains vigilant to protect pharmaceutical marketing research in Massachusetts, and across the country.
