The Massachusetts House voted today to repeal the state Code of Conduct for pharmaceutical manufacturers' interactions with physicians (from which marketing research incentives are excluded, thanks to MRA's efforts in 2009) -- by a whopping vote of 128-22, as part of the House budget proposal.
While the repeal may not pass the Senate, even Governor Patrick (D) has expressed interest in repeal.
Today's vote is a perfect illustration of why MRA's prognosis of S.B. 515 and H.B. 1544 was that neither bill was likely to advance in the current political climate.
