Hundreds of volunteers dedicate countless hours to support the work of IA's dozen Chapters. To mark National Volunteer Week 2021, we are pleased to shine a spotlight on the following individuals who have provided outstanding dedication and service to the members of their chapters. 

Florida Chapter


Maria Lucia Parra, President​, Ingenium Research

Maria has been a valued and enthusiastic member since joining the Board in 2019. Maria has focused her efforts on supporting event planning activities and providing opportunities for Chapter members to connect and learn. Having experienced first-hand the business development benefits of Chapter involvement, she is a tremendous advocate for the Chapter and encouraging others to get involved.

Great Lakes Chapter


Damon Jones, VP, Telephone Data Collection, Burke
Advisor; Diversity & Education Committee Chair

Damon has been a champion for the Chapter for 10+ years. He is very active, offering sage advice and bringing a passion for the industry that energizes the GLC board and its members. He has spearheaded the D&E Committee, leads by example and inspires those around him to get involved.

Greater New York Chapter

Chris has been a key member of the board and the Chapter for the past two years. He’s always willing to chip in and goes above and beyond to help in any way – always willing to learn and do whatever is necessary for our chapter to be a success. 

New England Chapter

For the past two years, Will has volunteered to help plan the Chapter’s winter and summer parties.  When Covid limited in-person meetings, Will took his party planning skills online to help organize virtual parties complete with networking, games, prizes and tasty gift boxes.

Northwest Chapter


Brian Dowdy, Senior Research Manager, GfK Custom Research

Brian has improved the overall strategy for marketing the Chapter by expertly crafting all communications. Brian’s natural talent for creating well-fitting content and imagery accelerated efforts to promote several virtual Talking Tuesday events and the four-day virtual Future of Insights Summit in 2020. He continues to shine in 2021.

Philadelphia Chapter

Trish is a new member to the Philadelphia board this year and has jumped right in, offering her support and time wherever needed. She has stepped up to host events, recruited event speakers, contributed great ideas and, of course, keeps us organized with notes from each meeting.

SoCal Chapter


Kwami Lewis, Managing Director, Methodify
Advisor; Board member since 2010

Kwami has been a key player in reinvigorating the SoCal Chapter. Through his leadership and tireless efforts coaching new members, organizing events and boosting chapter visibility, the SoCal Chapter has grown in size and scope – winning Chapter of the Year during his term as President. He has also volunteered to host several Job Fairs for IA national.

Southeast Chapter

Paula works alongside other volunteers on the chapter's Marketing and Communications committee. As a corporate researcher at a non-profit organization, she provides a unique window into research and how those on the client and supplier side can better collaborate.

Leslie does it all. She has taken Chapter marketing to a whole new level during the past year, with fresh designs and extensive use of technology to make outreach and events a success!

Cheryl has been an active volunteer/board member for more than 10 years. She volunteered to be Chapter Secretary, a long-unfilled position, and has been instrumental in establishing new processes and procedures. She’s always eager to help with Chapter events.
