Despite MRA's testimony before the Vermont House Committee on Health Care yesterday, members of the Committee are preparing to amend S. 104 to strike the provision legalizing marketing research.

According to sources that know the Committee well, the members entered the hearing having already made up their mind that they would strike the provision and feel that even the slightest mention or reference of a specific product or service would constitute influence of a provider participating in a research study.

MRA now turns its attention more to the Senate, to hold the line on the Senate's original bill, and is weighing in with the original sponsoring Committee to stand tough.
