Historic CASRO and MRA Merger Complete
The Insights Association Debuts as the Largest US-Based Organization Supporting Marketing Research & Analytics Businesses and Professionals
Washington, January 5, 2017 – As a new year dawns, so, too, does a new era in marketing research and analytics service and advocacy with the launch of the Insights Association.
Born from the merger of CASRO (founded in 1975) and MRA (founded in 1957), the Insights Association will provide one voice to advocate for marketing research and analytics, supporting with unprecedented resources the companies and individuals engaged in this important work.
All of the Insights Association's income is dedicated to furthering the interests and growth of the marketing research and analytics industry and profession.
“Considering the complexity and swift pace of change now occurring, the marketing research and analytics industry needs the expertise, objectivity and broad spectrum of support provided by the Insights Association,” commented Simon Chadwick, Managing Partner of Cambiar and Chair of the Insights Association Board. “We are fortunate to launch this new organization from a place of strength – with an established network, seasoned board and staff, impressive technological capabilities, and the ability to grow cost-efficiently to meet the growing needs of members.”
“Since September, when the members of both CASRO and MRA overwhelmingly approved combining our efforts on behalf of our members, we have worked to ensure that the Insights Association delivers on its promise to provide exceptional resources to maintain the integrity and strength of the marketing research and analytics industry,” said CEO David W. Almy, who takes the helm after serving as MRA CEO since 2010. “We are thrilled by the opportunity to deliver such robust service offerings in our effort to help members grow their businesses, their departments and as professionals.”
The most immediate benefit from the merger that members will experience is that all research-related employees of member companies will be afforded member benefits. “This is a huge step forward for professionals in our industry,” said Chadwick, “and means that the reach of the combined association will now stretch to over 15,000 individuals who are able to benefit from professional training, certification and events.”
MRA and CASRO staff continue with the new organization, joined by recent hires Krista Vazquez and Jonathan Saxe, both critical contributors to the success of IIR’s The Market Research Event (TMRE). Longtime CASRO President Diane Bowers will continue to work with the Association on key projects.
Several conferences already have been scheduled for this year, with more planned in 2018. Events include: The 2017 CEO Summit, January 23-26 in Miami; NEXT: Advancing Insights, May 9-10 in New York; the Insights Industry Leadership Conference (formerly CASRO Annual), September 26-28 in Palm Beach, FL; the Corporate Researchers Conference (CRC), October 16-18 and the CRC Leadership Forum, October 18-19, both at the Swissotel, Chicago.
