The Impact Award, presented at the MRA Insights & Strategies Conference in San Diego on June 3, recognizes an industry professional, team or organization that has demonstrated tremendous vision, leadership, and innovation, within the past year, that has led to advances in the marketing research profession. We are honored to announce that this year’s Impact Award is being presented to Jack MacKenzie, President of Magid Generational Strategies at Frank N Magid Associates and a consummate expert in generational, media, and TV insights.
MacKenzie oversees his organization’s strategic research and consulting for the entertainment industry including leading broadcast networks, cable channels, gaming companies as well as mobile service and content providers. Through his leadership, Magid Associates developed a proprietary methodological and analytical approach to the primetime TV business in 2014. Extensive consumer research uncovered the emotional characteristics that drive TV tune-in and higher program ratings. The result, EmotionalDNA, uses advanced quantitative analytics to translate viewers’ emotional perceptions of TV shows and networks into a portrait of the primetime TV landscape. MacKenzie also founded his company’s Millennial Strategy Program in 2004, which evolved into a Generational Insights practice. This practice now helps Fortune 500 companies understand the importance of generational change in America and maximize their business from it.
